Effectiveness of Guidelines for Assistance for Lactation Cadres (PeKa ASI) for Postpartum Mothers in Increasing the Success of Breastfeeding Exclusive
Abstract:
So far, health cadres have been involved in various activities of the maternal health and child planning program, but the assistance of lactation cadres for postpartum mothers is still not active because there are no guidelines for assisting lactation cadres (PeKa ASI) that can be used. This study aimed to develop guidelines for PeKa ASI and assess its effectiveness in increasing the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Experimental research design. The population of all cadres of 2 villages in the Panekan District area, a sample of 50 cadres using the PeKa ASI guidelines, and 50 cadres were not given treatment (conventionally using the Maternal and Child Health book). The research variables are the guidelines for PeKa Breastfeeding and the effectiveness of its use. The data collection instrument for PeKa ASI guidelines is accompanied by a questionnaire and checklist. Descriptive and statistical data analysis techniques of paired sample T Test, Independent Sample T Test on normally distributed data and Wilcoxon Test and Mann Whitney Test on abnormally distributed data. The results showed that the intervention group and the control group could improve the knowledge and skills of health cadres (p-value < 0.05) but could not improve the attitude of health cadres (p-value > 0.05). The PeKa ASI Guidelines are more effective in improving the knowledge, attitudes and skills of health cadres than just using Maternal and Child Health books.

A Training Institution-Based Assessment of Choices and Perceptions of the Nursing Profession and Analysis of Career Progression Perspectives Among Final Year Nursing and Midwifery Students
Abstract:
The nursing profession is crucial in healthcare, emphasizing patient-centered care to improve health at both individual and community levels. Nurses work collaboratively with physicians but also provide independent care to enhance patient outcomes. In Ghana, over 128 accredited institutions train nurses; however, enrollment often exceeds capacity, prompting calls for selective recruitment, infrastructure expansion, and greater use of preceptors. This multi-site, cross-sectional study explores why final-year students chose nursing, their views on the profession, and perspectives on career progression. Findings indicate that most students, primarily single, learned about nursing through family and friends. Many chose nursing early, often influenced by their parents and a lasting interest in the field. Students generally view nursing as a respected profession and believe job opportunities are accessible both locally and abroad, though it is not considered highly paid domestically. Some received career counseling before training, which affirmed their choice. Most plan to migrate within five years, favoring the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. Many students consider a genuine interest in nursing essential for success, express satisfaction with the profession, and would recommend it to others. Further research is needed to understand students' motivations and career plans more fully.

Abstract:
Studies show that there has been an increasing incorporation of AI in different sectors with increasing technological advancement, a trend that can also be observed in the healthcare sector. Considering the growing significance of AI in the medical field in this study, the researcher has aimed to enumerate the different scopes of its implementation in nursing and its impact on patient outcomes. An understanding of these potential areas of AI implementation in nursing and its effect on patient outcomes would be beneficial for the implementation of future advancements related to AI in nursing. In this systematic literature review, the researcher has focused on analyzing the potential areas of implementing AI in the functioning of nurses and the ways it would impact patient outcomes. The review has considered analysing the areas of application and the role of AI in the functioning of nurses, the potential impact of implementation in the functioning of nurses, and how it impacts patient outcomes. With regards to the areas of application, the findings of the reviewed studies have revealed that AI has considerable scope for implementation in areas of clinical decision-making the performing of administrative work, and the identification of patterns and features in healthcare data. It has been reported to positively impact their clinical decision-making processes, minimizing the risk of medical errors along with improving accuracy, which inevitably positively impacts the quality-of-care services being received by the patients and the patient outcomes.

The Crucial Role of Professional Guidance in Self-management: Insights from Elderly Multimorbidity Patients
Abstract:
Elderly patients experience chronic illnesses with multimorbidity. Multimorbidity is defined as having two or more chronic conditions in an individual at the same time which may occur simultaneously, episodic or during their lifetime. Therefore, elderly patients, like any other patient with multimorbidity need to develop self-management skills to cope with their health and improve their quality of life. However, this comes with its challenges. As such multimorbidity elderly patients require professional expert guidance. This study aims to explore the perceived importance of professional expert guidance in self-management among elderly patients with multimorbidity which will facilitate improvement of health outcomes and quality of life. A qualitative interpretative phenomenological study using an in-depth interview guide with 10 purposively sampled elderly patients with multimorbidity was done. The study was conducted at the University Teaching Hospitals – Adult Hospital in Lusaka, Zambia. Interpretative phenomenological analysis was used to analyse the data that provided 3 themes which included knowledge and expertise, Personal engagement considering learning needs and Control of one’s life as important aspects in professional expert guidance. The study concluded that professionals dealing with elderly multimorbidity patients need to have adequate knowledge and expertise through training in areas such as ageing, multimorbidity and self-management to make it easy to give guidance to patients and their carers and also to engage these patients and give them chance to manage their own lives. The study demonstrates novelty being the first study that brings out insights on professional expert guidance on self-management as they relate to elderly multimorbidity patients.

Push and Pull Factors for Migration of Nurses in Developing Countries-A Systematic Review
Abstract:
The occurrence of migration has been in existence since the beginning of time and is fueled by economic, political, personal and social factors. The aim of this paper is to examine the scholarly articles that exist on the push and pull factors of migration of nurses in developing countries. A systematic review was conducted in Prospero, and the research studies were selected from Google Scholar, PubMed and EBSCO databases. Fifteen (15) studies were analyzed to determine the pull and push factors of the migration of nurses in developing countries. Majority of studies indicate that migration is a multifaceted issue, and no one factor influences one’s decision to migrate. Ultimately persons are driven by the desire for more educational opportunities for themselves and their children, better working conditions, better pay and overall, a higher standard of living. Migration is still a crucial issue in most developing countries, it is imperative that solutions to mitigate this problem be implemented with urgency. Thus, rectifying this issue is enormous, however the review of salaries to meet the global recession and price gouging in many developing countries can provide some relief to this emerging situation.
