The Influence of Women’s Financial Literacy on Family Size
Abstract:
This study is primarily aimed at assessing the influence of women’s financial literacy on family size. In order to attain the objective, we use a quantitative research approach, based on deductive method. Survey questionnaires were used to collect data for the study from a sample of 210 women living in Douala IV municipality. The results of the findings derived from a multivariate regression technique of data analysis by the use of structural modelling equation revealed that financial knowledge and financial behaviour have a positive effect on household size. This is to show that if women are financial literate, it will help them in managing properly their household finances to increase family size. For instance, women will save regularly, which will enable them to track their expenses to make sure these expenses do not exceed their income. Therefore, it is relevant for women to attend financial literacy programs in order to acquire valuable skills to manage their household finances and improve family size.References:
