How International Schools Manage to be Financially Sustainable while Maintaining High Educational Standards
Abstract:
International schools must remain financially sustainable while simultaneously maintaining high public trust—not only from parents but also from the institutions and bodies that accredit them. This article seeks to examine how maintaining high educational standards influences these institutions from a financial perspective. This paper aims to explain that long-term financial sustainability is intrinsically linked to the trust of stakeholders who view these systems as consistent in terms of governance, ethics, and education. A review was conducted as thoroughly as possible, covering not only academic literature but also policy documents and international regulatory frameworks. The article argues that transparent governance will benefit not only from a purely economic perspective but also from an educational one, since, as mentioned earlier, trust is a crucial factor for the long-term sustainability of these entities. The greatest financial risk lies not in competition but in the public’s perception of the institution itself. The article concludes by demonstrating that an international school is sustainable if it can establish credibility through robust systems of trust among stakeholders.References:
