Abstract:

This study examined the effect of non-monetary incentives on employee job satisfaction in selected manufacturing firms in Kano State, Nigeria. Non-financial rewards such as recognition, career development, training, work environment, and participatory management play a critical role in shaping employee attitudes and satisfaction levels. A quantitative cross-sectional survey design was adopted, with data collected from 143 employees using structured questionnaires. Reliability testing produced Cronbach’s alpha of 0.863, indicating strong internal consistency. Regression analysis revealed that non-monetary incentives significantly influence job satisfaction, with management support and recognition emerging as the strongest predictors. The findings underscore the importance of intrinsic motivational strategies in enhancing employee satisfaction and sustaining organizational performance within the manufacturing sector.
